DisCatalog v3 - With DisCatalog you can catalog all your disks regardless of which kind of storage medium: hard disks, CDs, DVDs, MP3, digital cards like cards in digital cameras etc. DisCatalog assists you to keep track of all your disks and to find really quickly files, music or videos. Catalog a preview of every file: contents of Word-, Excel-files (e.g. doc, xls), thumbnails of pictures and photos (e.g. jpg), ID3-Tags of MP3-files. These previews are included by the search function. DisCatalog shows you the exact disk and depository where you find a file. Get all title information of Music-CDs and Video-DVDs straight from Online-databases while cataloging. For a better overview separate the whole catalog into different categories or use the File-Filter. Some categories and filters are already fixed, however you can create custom categories and filters. You can take notes to every disk, folder or each single file. Export your catalog or parts of it in different file-formats like Word, Excel, Text tabs separated, PDF, Rich Text or print lists and overviews. Backup and Restore prevents you to loose cataloged data. DisCatalog is network compatible and you can share the catalog database with further computers. Dear Sir,
Over the years I have saved my digital photographs on CD. As time goes by without a filing system, I have over a hundred CD’s and I had no idea where to find anything.
So I went on the Internet to look for a program where I could load in the CD and perhaps just search or scan the contents of the CD without having to actually load the pictures back in to the computer.
At first glance your program DisCatalog V.3 looked like an excellent program to do just that.
Having tried it out it loads the CD in fine. The only disappointing part is, is that you don’t display thumbnail pictures in Contact Sheet form. You only display the list and then I have to click on each item in turn to see what the picture is. So if I have hundreds of pictures to look at it would take few hours to go through them. And that is just one CD.
Can I suggest you have a Contact Sheet to display the pictures in your future updates. Or a list with the picture along side.
So for the time being I will not be purchasing your program. I would only be using it to sort out my pictures anyway. But the program doesn’t have what I want.
By the way - your Vertical and Horizontal buttons are back to front. Vertical is UP Horizontal is ACROSS.
